Hey! My name is Josh.

I’m a senior industrial design student at Virginia Tech driven by a passion for inclusive and accessible design. I’m motivated by solving real-world problems that improve the human experience.

I’m a process-driven designer and particularly enjoy the research, prototyping, and presentation phases of the design workflow. I’m an avid learner, and will take any excuse to dive into learning a new skill.

What is inclusive design?

I really love the Nielsen Norman Group’s definition of inclusive design. They propose:

“Inclusive design describes methodologies to create products that understand and enable people of all backgrounds and abilities. Inclusive design may address accessibility, age, culture, economic situation, education, gender, geographic location, language, and race. The focus is on fulfilling as many user needs as possible, not just as many users as possible.”
